I feel as though the bible has no bearing on my life, but Christ is at the mddle of my life. The Bible seems so anitque and misleading.

Can any one share a story with me how the bible helped them feel more in god"s love.

Well the bible has helped me many times... when im lonely, confused, afraid... i can read what Jesus says about those things and what he does because he loves me... Its about learning, growing and refreshing myself on what God is all about. Plus it tells me how to handle life's situations and reminds me of sins that i would otherwise forget (outside of the 10 commandments). It is my Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth ... and i would be no where without it.

It's God's Word through which He reveals Himself. We can't feel Jesus' love without having a personal relationship with Him. The Bible tells us how to have that relationship.

For instance, the Bible tells us that we have all sinned.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

It also tells us that sin earns us death, but God wants to give us the gift of eternal life.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life.

It also reveals that God loves us, in spite of our sin.
John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

The Bible tells us how to get rid of our sin so that we can have eternal life and have that relationship with Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and He was buried, and He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

Because God is holy we cannot enter His presence without being clean from our sin. He provided the way to be forgiven and made clean.
Hebrews 9:22 Without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Without the Bible there is no basis for knowing what is right and what is wrong. Without it we could not know what Jesus did for us when He gave His life on the cross and we could not have the hope of eternal life without knowing about how He overcame death by rising from the dead. We also would not have the encouragement that is in so many places throughout the Bible, showing us that through Jesus living in us, we can have a fulfilled life and have a victorious life.

There are so many verses I could quote that are extremely meaningful to me. If you cannot get anything out of reading the Bible, open up your heart and pray something like this, "Lord Jesus, please reveal Yourself to me through Your Word. I believe in You. Thank You for dying on the cross so that I can be forgiven for my sins. Please come into my life and change me. Forgive me for everything I have done wrong. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to receive revelation from Your Word as I read it."

As you open yourself to Jesus and ask Him, and then open His Word, you will find excitement in the things He will show you.
