"JERUSALEM — A three-foot-tall tablet with 87 lines of Hebrew that scholars believe dates from the decades just before the birth of Jesus is causing a quiet stir in biblical and archaeological circles, especially because it may speak of a messiah who will rise from the dead after three days.

If such a messianic description really is there, it will contribute to a developing re-evaluation of both popular and scholarly views of Jesus, since it suggests that the story of his death and resurrection was not unique but part of a recognized Jewish tradition at the time.

“Some Christians will find it shocking — a challenge to the uniqueness of their theology — while others will be comforted by the idea of it being a traditional part of Judaism,” Mr. Boyarin said.

Ms. Yardeni, who analyzed the stone along with Binyamin Elitzur, is an expert on Hebrew script, especially of the era of King Herod, who died in 4 B.C. The two of them published a long analysis of the stone more than a year ago in Cathedra, a Hebrew-language quarterly devoted to the history and archaeology of Israel, and said that, based on the shape of the script and the language, the text dated from the late first century B.C."

Prayer Request

Hi I'm new to this tribe, although I see some familiar faces :) I wanted to take the opportunity to request prayers for my boyfriend. He was exposed to a sublethal dose of cyanide (on job long story). He was treated for asthma for the last month with no improvement in lung function, but now we know the cause. I ask that you pray for prevention of further damage and healing of any previous damage. I never underestimate the power of prayer!

The drug makers have been out right lying about the efficacy of antidepressants.They have been caught red handed.

For the majority of people, the drugs are no better then snake oil.

If the only problem was that, the drug is a placebo for the vast majority people who have been given it, I would not care.

But it is far from the only problem!

The Physicians' Desk Reference lists the following adverse reactions (side effects) to antidepressants among a host of other physical and neuropsychiatric effects: manic reaction (mania, e.g. kleptomania, pyromania, dipsomania), emotional lability (or instability), abnormal thinking, alcohol abuse, hallucinations, hostility, lack of emotion, paranoid reaction, amnesia, confusion, agitation, delirum, delusions, hysteria, psychosis, sleep disorders, abnormal dreams, and discontinuation (withdrawal) syndrome. Adverse reactions are especially likely when starting or discontinuing the drug, increasing or lowering the dose or when switching from one SSRI to another SSRI. Adverse reactions are often diagnosed as bipolar disorder when the symptoms could be entirely iatrogenic (treatment induced). Withdrawal, especially abrupt withdrawal, from any of these medications can also cause severe neuropsychiatric and physical symptoms. It is important to withdraw extremely slowly from these drugs, usually over a period of a year or more, under the supervision of a qualified and experienced specialist.

In addition to the adverse reactions listed in the Physicians' Desk Reference, the FDA published a Public Health Advisory on March 22, 2004 which states (in part): "Anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, impulsivity, akathisia (severe restlessness), hypomania, and mania have been reported in adult and pediatric patients being treated with antidepressants for major depressive disorder as well as for other indications, both psychiatric and nonpsychiatric."

The vast majority of school and other recent massacres have involved people going on or coming off these drugs.

Many otherwise loving parents have killed their own children wile going on or coming off these drugs.

Godly Living and Our example to others

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3: 23-24.

All that have accepted Christ as their personel Saviour are familiar with the scripture above.

In Revelation 12:10 we see satan called the great accuser:

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

It is true that once we are sealed with the blood of Christ and the Holy Spirit, nothing can seperate us from God. This also means, nothing or no one can steal us away. From the moment we accept Christ we are His, bought and paid for through His Sacrifice. The great accuser , satan, from this point will do anything to cause problems in our lives. God does not tempt us and it is satan that brings the firey darts that attacks us almost constantly, especially in these last days now. Satan knows his time is short.

Just always remember this: You belong to God, and only God knows the future. God is the past, present , and the future. As a matter of fact God spoke the heavens and the earth into being. Satan on the other hand does not know the future. So for the Christian believer satan will try every time to accuse us of our past sins that we have been forgiven for . And even any sin that is committed from that point on.
It is true , we must live godly lives and set the example of Christ as a light of the world to see. And all too often have we seen the evidence of a Godly individual taken down when the great accuser uses the world to type cast them.

We have all heard or witnessed circumstances where there is a very Godly individual living in a community and for years served Christ unconditionally in the love of others. They are regarded as community leaders and setting that perfect example. Then one day the individual stumbles and falls short, it is made public...and all that the individual had done for years to his credit goes down the drain with the whole community.

So many try to live a perfect life, constantly incased in a sometype of spiritual straight jacket. All eyes are on them and all eyes judge them also. That is true in every aspect of our lives. But, the truth of the matter is while we are ruled by Christ in our hearts, we can never be sinless. We can try, but to our dissappointment we will always fall short. The world does not understand this and many within our own chiristian circles do not understand it either yet.

So, how do we live ? Can we have a good time and still be a Christian? Salvation is serious business forsure and loving one another is perhaps the most precious and important of Christ commands for us. What is it that changes inside of our hearts when we accept Christ that makes us different ? We are in the world , but not of the world what does this mean ?

Here is the answer... If we do the best we can do and always do the right thing , understanding that no one is perfect..but keeping a mature understanding of the mind of Christ and the commands and instructions Christ left for us to obey. For instance,
the Two most important commandments.. Love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Regardless of what one does whither it be dancing, cooking, sports, fine arts, and the list goes on eternally..do it all for the glory of God.
If there is one thing God has shown me in my relationship with Christ in these 35 years, it is that we understand that God is a predestined all knowing God. It is God that sets the order that has been ordained from the very beginning. Yes, we are going to fail and fail many times. And Christ is always there ready to hear us and pick us back up. And praise God for a patient and loving God...

Don't let the great accuser try to hold you back, cause in reality he can't..the battle is already over, and the war is won...
All that we ever have in this world is God's anyway....and don't be surprised that our Loving Father does not disipline us at times.
Any shortcoming is always forgiven this does not mean that we fall short just to know God's grace on purpose either. And in the example
of a prisoner that has sinned serving a sentence, he can accept Christ too and be forgiven, but that does not mean he is not going to pay the price in this world for what he has done. The world is of satan, and it does not forgive.

Just let the Holy Spirit convict and lead....one can never go wrong...

Whatever it is that one does.... Do it for the glory of God..

Television and video has been one of the most powerful tools of Satan, which has ruined the ethics which sustained our youth and the family unit. With pornography in all its forms, men have been misled and subsequently their women, a whole generation of our youth and their families have been devoured by Satan. We have forgotten about God, the Bible and prayer and have allowed ourselves to go down the road to hell and have fallen into Satan's trap (in other words we are slaves to flesh and our desires). Hedonism is the aim of humanity.

The group that is attempting to rule the world, consists of three member countries, U.S.A, Europe and Japan (3 presidents). Their central control, consists of 32 members (of the 29, 8 are Americans; 9 from Japan; 12 from the European Union (contolled from Belgium/Luxembourg). Head of the 3 member group is Rockefeller (his head quaters is in Rhodes, Greece; his specific influence is in the U.S.A and E.U). Whoever does not obey the orders of this group are murdered. Death is the penalty for disobedience. Another Satanic "club" is called, Bildeberg. They can destroy any government and put a new one together again. They can make a country vanish and create a new one too. 200 members, which include intelligence agencies (CIA; BIA; BND (Ger.); SIB (Ital.); SPELA (Fra.)). There are members who are involved with NATO and hold important positions in the US administration, etc. They hold an extremely harsh stance against the East, especially with Russia because of its Christian Orthodox heritage. They exterminate/demolish any opposition.

An enemy going back thousands of years is head quatered in China (the Himalayas/Tibet). The Seljuks come from that region, who are the ancestors of the Turks, who attacked and oppressed Christian Orthodoxy in Asia Minor and Greece. The Turks/Jews have tried many times to wipe out the Greeks and Christian Orthodoxy. They call the Greeks and Christian Orthodoxy, the people of the "Blue Trigramaton" (which is refering to the Holy Light that emenates from our Lord Jesus Christ's tomb). The roots of martial arts is that region spoken of above. Martial arts are Satanic and anti-Christian and yet has our youth spellbound under the innocent guise of sport/fitness. In the Himalayas there is a glass pyramid (Sambala), it has many entrances. This is where the White Brotherhood is based. It's aim is to destroy all the world's religions except its own. It has more power than the U.S.A. It has more resources at its disposal than all the governments in the world. It has infiltrated and controls many governments and religions (Roman Catholics, Protestants and Judaism). The First and Second World Wars were masterminded by them. They are going to start the Third World War too. The White Brotherhood works with the Bildeberg club and all the others. They are assisted by the Zionists. They created Hitler and introduced the Swastika (broken cross, that is what it means). Hirohito of Japan was responsible for a massive bloodbath, but he was not punished like the others, after the Second World War because he was a member of the world ruling 3 member group mentioned above. Grey Wolves (Turkish Muslims), are connected to the White Brotherhood. Only Grey Wolves members may rule Turkey. They must always mantain a harsh stance against Greece/Christian Orthodoxy (Turgut Ozal, was exterminated for his softer stance).

The White Brotherhood want to destroy the followers of Jesus Christ. They call His followers, bipods or two-legged ones. Their methods are many: thirst, hunger on a worldwide scale. Thirst on a worldwide scale, for eg.. Euphrates to be dried up because of Turkey, which will lead to a confrontation with Iran/Syria. Hunger, for eg., Russia was the world's wheat provider, even the U.S.A relied on her. The White Brotherhood ensured that Russia would starve. In Moscow young women give themselves for a plate of food. Homosexuality, the U.S.A being its banner. One can go on and on, but there will be no end then. It is devestating. But do not despair, if you are a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ because He has defeated Satan and the world.

Struggles

Being in any kind of a Christian ministry involves struggles! I'd like this forum to be a place where you can freely share your struggles and ask for advice and prayers. It is through the support and prayers of others, as well as focusing on the Lord and His strength, that we came through stronger and better than when we entered the struggle.

For instance, recently one of the kids I minister to was being persecuted by her family due to her stand for the Lord. As I asked several people to pray, God moved in her life, causing her to grow through the struggle. And now her family is not pressuring her as much. I was struggling with her because they were accusing me of things which were untrue. But now they are more accepting and have stopped the accusations. I can only attribute that to a miracle that God did in response as His people agreed in prayer.

Cool website for people into cool things

Hello,

I thought I would tell people about two cool happenings:

1. A site called givemeaning.com is doing cool things online. People can post their fundraising ideas on this site and after aquiring 100 votes from friends and family, a project can then begin collecting donations online towards that project. GiveMeaning gives 100% of all funds raised to the project. Its a free site for you to use when fundraising (GiveMeaning gets its revenue through ad sponsorships).

2. Here is a project that needs 35 more votes before being able to raise its funds online through the site:

Just a reminder

The purpose of this tribe is for those in minstry to share their burdens, prayer requests, comments, encouragement, testimonies, etc. We haven't been very active, but it's still open to do that.

I am no longer working with a church but am now working full time for a Christian camp in PA. We are looking for summer staff members who are passionate about their relationship with Jesus and who want to help children and teens come to know Him.

Let me know if you know someone who might be interested in info on this.

Liberalseekers.org is my ministry. The religious right has been enormously successful reaching the masses with seeker style worship that includes rock music and powerpoint type presentations. They have made Christianity accessible to "unchurched Harry's" by making church interesting and even fun. Once they have got unchurched Harry to church, they are able to dessiminate their conservative and literalist dogma of bigotry and hate which is not what Christ was about at all. Meanwhile, the progressive church has ignored unchurched Harry. The progressive church intellectualizes and design worship for those already attending rather than looking at those that are not attending. This is not what evangelism should be about. The theological right is better at communicating their message. The theological left needs to step up. At this point the theological left is almost invisible while the religous right is affecting election outcomes... it is scary.

Hi all, glad to be in the tribe. I am randy 24 from tinley park illinois, and I lead worship at my church, it is a laid back contemporary non denominational church with alternative style of worship, it is for people who normally dont go to church and like 20's age range it is awesome and look forward to getting to know all of you.
